Blocked drains and toilets
Persistently blocked toilets and drains require professional intervention. While you might be able to DIY, if your toilet or drain continues to be blocked or clog up, it could be a sign of a blockage further in the sewerage system.
A poorly functioning drainage system is a potential health hazard, and not only smell but can cause flooding and spreads germs and bacteria. Blocked drains are commonly caused by foreign objects in your pipes such as baby wipes, oil, grease, chemicals, small toys, paints, food scraps and hair.
Several signs indicate blocks and clogs in your drain system, including:
- Weird noises coming from your sink or drainage system.
- Strong odour coming from outlets and drains.
- Slow draining water from sinks.
- Traps not working properly.
- Water pooling in the house.
- Toilet has backflow and does not empty.
You can avoid emergency repairs and unexpected plumbing emergencies by having your drains and pipes assessed regularly by a professional plumber. Unblocking your drains early can help eliminate the risk of overflow and flooding.
If it is an emergency, we can assess the cause of blocked toilets, sinks, sewerage lines and stormwater drains. We can inspect your pipes with CCTV technology to identify the location of the blockage. From there, we can determine where the blockage is, and what it is (sometimes it’s a tree root!), and remove it. We can remove the blockage, and if necessary, replace the affected pipes. We also do maintenance plumbing to avoid future emergencies.
